Workmanship Warranty

Our workmanship is warranted for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, starting at your pickup date and pickup mileage. It covers defects in our installation or assembly. Coverage is for the original owner only, is not transferable, and is honored at both our Hendersonville and Clarksville locations.

What's covered

  • Installation or assembly defects in work we performed.
  • Wiring and connections we installed, for the full 12 months or 12,000 miles.
  • Bed cover leaks caused by installation (fit, seals, drain tubes). Bed covers are water-resistant, not waterproof.
  • Warning lights or sensor faults (TPMS, ADAS) caused by our work. Recalibration you declined is noted on your repair order and is not covered.
  • Vibration after a wheel and tire install: one free re-balance within the first 1,000 miles.

Parts

Parts purchased from us carry the full manufacturer warranty, and we file and manage the claim for you. Within 12 months or 12,000 miles, we also cover the labor to replace a manufacturer-defective part. After that, the part is still covered by the manufacturer and labor is charged.

Free 500-mile re-torque check (lift and leveling installs)

Every lift and leveling install includes a free re-torque check. It is free up to 1,000 miles or 60 days after your install, whichever comes first. If the check is skipped, settling or loosening issues are not covered.

Free Warranty Check

If something seems wrong with our work, we'll check it free for up to 30 minutes.

  • If it's our work, we fix it at no charge.
  • If it's not our work, we give you our findings and an estimate, at no charge.
  • If the check needs more than 30 minutes, we get your approval first. That time is billed at our labor rate and waived if the cause is our work.
  • A repeat visit for an issue we've already found is not our work is charged from the first minute.

Off-road and reasonable use

Normal on-road and off-road use is covered. Off-roading is demanding on any vehicle, and damage from abuse is not covered, including:

  • Impacts, collisions and rollovers
  • Racing, competition or jumping
  • Sustained high RPM or wheel spin, such as riding the rev limiter
  • Exceeding a part's or the vehicle's rated limits
  • Water beyond safe fording depth
  • Continuing to drive after a problem appears

You are responsible for regular maintenance, inspecting your vehicle after off-road use, and following any break-in and re-torque instructions.

What's not covered

  • Wear on related factory parts on lifted or modified vehicles (ball joints, CV axles, steering components), unless caused by an installation error. This is disclosed on your estimate.
  • Wear items (tires, brake pads, wipers, bulbs), except installation defects such as mounting or balance.
  • Alignment changes as a lift settles.
  • Cosmetic damage not reported within 48 hours of pickup. We document every vehicle at drop-off.
  • Towing, rental vehicles, lost time, travel and other incidental costs.
  • Damage caused by outside repairs, or outside work that prevents us from verifying our setup. Contact us before anyone else works on it.
  • Parts supplied by the customer (see Customer-Supplied Parts below).

Our remedy

For covered work, we choose whether to repair or redo it. A labor refund applies only if we can't fix it. A warranty repair is covered for the rest of your original coverage or 90 days, whichever is longer. This applies only to the repaired item and that repair's labor; the original warranty does not restart.

Regear Warranty and Break-In

Music City 4x4 is the only Yukon Gear & Axle Master Certified shop in Middle Tennessee. Ring and pinion gears, bearings, seals and master install kit components we supply and install, and our regear workmanship, are covered for 1 year or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first, from your pickup date and mileage. We do not install customer-supplied gears.

  • What's covered: defects in the gear components we supplied, and problems caused by our setup, including pinion depth, backlash, bearing preload, gear contact pattern, assembly and fastener torque. Covered failures include parts, removal and installation labor, and lubricant. We also cover other differential components directly damaged by a covered workmanship failure.
  • Break-in: we perform an initial break-in drive and cooling cycle before delivery. You complete the remaining 500-mile break-in following the written instructions we provide. No towing, flat towing, trail riding, hard launches or heavy-load driving during break-in.
  • Required 500-mile service: a differential fluid change and inspection must be performed by Music City 4x4 between 450 and 550 miles. This is a paid service, and its price is shown on your regear estimate. Damage caused by skipping or delaying it is not covered.
  • Dedicated trail rigs: vehicles that can't complete a road break-in must be identified before installation and follow a low-load break-in, with the required service after the first two trail days or about 15 operating hours.
  • Gear noise: some vehicles have more noticeable gear noise after regearing. Noise alone does not establish a defect. Noise caused by a parts defect or our workmanship is covered.
  • Not covered: missed break-in or required service, abuse or shock loading (burnouts, hard launches, wheel hop, full-throttle bouncing), racing or competition, overloading, contamination or wrong lubricant, impacts and unrelated driveline faults, and damage from outside adjustment or repair.

You receive the full Regear Warranty and Break-In Policy and break-in instructions at pickup. Where it differs from this page, the regear policy controls.

Customer-Supplied Parts

We install customer-supplied parts on a part-by-part basis, decided by a manager. Every customer-supplied parts job is written on our CSP Install service, and it must be approved before work begins.

  • Appointment fee: $100, non-refundable, charged at booking and applied to your final bill.
  • Drop-off: parts must be at our shop at least 3 business days before your appointment. We inspect them on arrival and decide which parts we will install.
  • Labor rate: $175/hr.
  • Warranty: customer-supplied parts carry no warranty from us. If a part fails, labor to replace it is charged again. Our installation is warranted 90 days against installation defects only. Part quality, fit and design are not installation defects.
  • Parts we do not install: ring and pinion gears, lockers and carriers; wheel spacers or adapters, lug nuts or studs; emissions-delete parts; used, salvaged or previously installed parts; used or plugged tires; airbag (SRS) or driver-assist (ADAS) components; low-quality or off-brand lighting or accessories. Universal-fit parts are installed only as custom fabrication, billed hourly with no warranty. Brake and steering parts must be name-brand and manager-approved. Driveshafts must be built to our measurements.
  • If a part is wrong, damaged or incomplete during the job: we message you with photos or video and call you. If we can't reach you within 30 minutes, you authorize us to buy the needed parts (up to 20% of the estimate total) and use up to 2 additional hours of labor. If that won't resolve it, we reassemble and release the vehicle, billed at $175/hr. A bay hold of $87.50/hr applies while the vehicle waits on a lift for your decision or parts, up to 1 business day.
  • Leftover parts: removed factory parts, hardware and packaging are set aside for pickup. Anything left after 7 days is disposed of.

Vehicle Storage

Every vehicle gets 2 business days free after we notify you that it's ready, that we need your decision on an estimate, or that it's waiting on parts you're supplying. After that, storage is $50/day parked outside or $100/day in a bay or on a lift, billed at pickup.

How to Make a Warranty Claim

  1. Call or text either location with your repair order number, current mileage and symptoms.
  2. Report it before your coverage ends. We honor it even if the inspection happens after.
  3. If you notice new noise, leaks, vibration or a warning light, stop driving as soon as it's safe. Damage from continuing to drive is not covered.
  4. We schedule a free Warranty Check.
  5. A manager makes the coverage decision. If we deny a claim, you get it in writing: the cause, what we found, and the exclusion that applies.

Does off-roading void my warranty?

No. Normal on-road and off-road use is covered. Damage from impacts, rollovers, racing, jumping or exceeding rated limits is not.

What warranty comes with a regear?
